Dermal fillers restore lost volume, soften deep folds, and refine facial contours without surgery. Most fillers use hyaluronic acid, a sugar molecule your body naturally produces to keep skin plump and hydrated. When injected beneath the skin, the filler adds support to areas that have thinned with age or genetics. Common treatment areas include the lips, cheeks, jawline, nasolabial folds, and the hollows beneath the eyes. Unlike Botox, which relaxes muscle, fillers physically replace volume.
Frequently asked questions
Most healthy adults are candidates. You should avoid fillers if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active skin infection in the treatment area, or take blood thinners that have not been cleared by your physician. During your consultation, we review your goals and medical history.
A filler appointment typically takes 30 to 60 minutes. A topical numbing cream is applied to keep you comfortable. Some patients notice mild swelling, redness, or pinpoint bruising, but most return to work or social plans the same day.
Depending on the product and area treated, dermal fillers typically last anywhere from 6 to 18 months. Most patients return once or twice a year for a refresh.
